Abike Dabiri, Folarin Coker, Yewande Zaccheus, Others For Event Managers’ 2017 Conference

Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora Matter and Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker, Director General, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC will be leading other distinguished speakers at the first Conference of Association of Professional Party Organizers and Event Managers of Nigeria​, APPOEMN hold in Lagos from September 14 to September 17.

Disclosing this at a media briefing in Lagos, Mrs Gbemi Ope, President, APPOEMN, said those speakers will be sharing their rich perspectives at the conference planned to bring together key professionals from across the country and a spectrum of events service providers, to share experiences, perspectives, insights and latest developments in the events industry.

She said the conference is built on the theme “Proudly Nigerian…Setting Standards”.

“Our mission is to educate, advance, network and promote the events industry and its network of professionals along with related industries,” Ope stated.

Joining Dabiri-Erewa and Coker as key speakers at the 2017 conference and masterclass programme are Mrs Yewande Zaccheus, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Nkechi Eze of Asoebi Bella, Banke Meshida-Lawal. Others include Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Yemi Amusan, Kehinde Daniels, Pamela Maria Nwonu, Ayodele Subair and others.

The APPOEMN president noted that the association seeks to become a chartered council with the sole responsibility to regulate the practice of events management, associated industries and professionals in the country.

The event will roll off with an Events Master Class on September 14 at the Naval Yard, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos at 9am, with registration.

The day will culminate in  a Highlife at the waterfront of the same venue.

A seminar and exhibition which will be open to the public will take place the next day September 15 at Havilah Events Center, Oniru Road  by RCCG City of David, Victoria Island, Lagos.

About 300 event professionals, government agencies and clients are expected to attend the seminar with exhibitions featuring.

The event conference will climax with a Dinner and Awards Night at D’Venue by Cedarwood, Water Corporation Road, Off Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru, Victoria Island Lagos, in what is expected to be a luxurious night of glitz and glam where 41 awards will be presented to deserving vendors.

 

APPOEMN is an association consisting of seasoned professionals that have been at the forefront of the event industry in Nigeria, for the past 15 years.

The mission of the association is to educate, advance, network and promote the events industry and its network of professionals along with related industries.

The association is open to everyone that is involved in organizing events in any capacity, these include event managers, photographers, decorators, cake makers among others.
