The candidate of Accord Party in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Godwin Maduka, has expressed disappointment over the heinous activities of few persons whom he described as desperate, trying to bring disorder in the state in the name of politics.
Dr. Maduka made this known during an interview in Awka ahead of the November election.
According to the Accord Party candidate, Anambra State has, before now, enjoyed peace and tranquility, but the ambition of desperate politicians who are bent on bringing mayhem to the state in order to walk their way into power, have left the state in tension.
He pointed out that Ndi Anambra are known for their strong will and determination in achieving the best and urged all candidates taking part in the election to make peace their watch word in order to build a dream state for all.
Dr. Maduka, a philanthropist of repute, also called on Ndi Anambra to critically assess individual candidates and their worth to avoid selfish persons from governing the state.
He noted that political campaigns should not be a season for politicians to suddenly remember the people, rather a period of reflection and score cards of individual contribution, and achievement to humanitarian services and other factors.
The medical practitioner disagreed that any political party can rig election in the state, stating that Ndi Anambra are knowledgeable enough and understood the process of election, and commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for their efforts in ensuring a smooth election in the state.
He concluded by calling on youths, groups and religious bodies to assist in achieving a free, fair and credible election in Anambra State.
