The Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Prof. Nelson Brambaifa, has called for total support for President Muhammadu Buhari, urging the people of the Niger Delta to throw aside party affiliations and rally round the President to ensure his continuity in Office come 16th Feb, 2019.

The Acting MD of the interventionist Agency, in a statement made available to newsmen through his Media Aide, Barr. Igbeta Ayebakuro, recounts the massive investments and contributions made by the President Buhari led Federal Government to ensure the development of the Niger Delta, arguing “Only a man who is sincerely concerned of our people’s plight and underdevelopment would go the extra mile of making funds available to inspire our development in infrastructure, welfare, and employment, I must tell Niger Deltans that to demonstrate his commitment to the people of the region, the President has begun the release of over 1.3trilion Naira owed the Commission by previous governments right from inception, if anything I must affirm, is the fact that this APC government has shown more commitment for the development of the Niger Delta region in its just about 4years in office than, the PDP did for well over 16years, it is therefore very important for us as a people concerned with our own destiny which right now lies in our individual thumbs, to press forwards our interests, which is also exhibited daily by the President’s will power and design that aligns with the promises made to our people by the PMB led APC Government.

Prof Brambaifa enjoins every person of the region to look around and discover for themselves, the expression of goodwill by the President that touch on the masses, for the first time since 1999, intervention funds are getting to the targeted population, is it the NPOWER scheme, the TraderMoni programme, or is it the school feeding programme, which are evidenced successes of the government and its sincerity.

Niger Deltans have more than enough reasons to want to vote for the President Muhammadu Buhari’s continuation in office, we all are aware the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme was billed to end but, this PMB led Federal government has extended it and fought off the menacing corruption associated with it, awards and completion of roads and other people oriented projects across the Niger Delta leading to the reduction of agitations and security in the region even in it’s waterways, are clear attestations to the goodwill of the government which only needs our mandate in votes to continue, it is on this note that the Acting Managing Director of the NDDC has called on the people from across the nine(9)Sates constituting the region and indeed all Nigerians to turn out enmass on the 16th of February to mandate President Buhari for a deserving second tenure in office.

The statement made available by Igbeta Ayebakuro, quoted Prof. Brambaifa to have promised to not only build on the existing legacies of the Commission, but is also poised to trigger innovations that would lead the Commission and the region to even greater heights, and to achieve this, the MD promise to bring about even development to every constituent state of the commission, therefore calls on the support and commitment of all within the region, assuring that his administration would break from the norm of concentrating development only in the MD’s home state as alleged by most persons from the region, and instead will bring to fore an era of even and unparalleled Development, that is also easily accessible all.
