Acting Surveyor-General Tasks Staff On Excellent Service Delivery

The Acting Surveyor-General of Lagos State, Surv. Ayokunnu Adesina, has admonished staff to embrace change by ensuring diligence that will enhance efficiency and outstanding service delivery to stakeholders.

Speaking at his maiden meeting with management and staff of the Office of the State Surveyor-General, Adesina reiterated the need to focus on enhancing the revenue generation drive of the agency, just as he warned against lateness, unprofessional dressing, loitering and improper conduct at work.

His words: “If punctuality is the soul of business and we are not punctual at our duty post, it means the soul of that business is lost”.

Advising staff to take cognisance of the need for personal capacity building, Surv. Adesina promised to make the office environment conducive to enhancing staff performance.

He maintained that the welfare of all staff would be his primary responsibility as far as there is full compliance with the rules and regulations backing punctuality to work.

In a similar development, the Public Service Standard and Performance Unit of the Office of the Head of Service visited the Ag. Surveyor-General to monitor and ensure full compliance with the public service rules to facilitate greater teamwork and harmonious relationship among staff.

Welcoming the team, Surv. Adesina enlightened the team members about the achievements and challenges of the organisation, saying, “One of our major challenges is a shortage of pool vehicles. This, in turn, sometimes disturbs the smooth operations of the Office”.

The Ag. Surveyor-General stated further that products and services rendered by the office include the e-GIS, Core stations and Data capturing, explaining that the data is accessed through a digital network.

He, therefore, emphasised the need for more pool vehicles for staff because their jobs entail fieldwork across the State.

The leader of the delegation from the Public Service Standard and Performance Unit, Mr. Ligali Adeleke, congratulated the acting Surveyor-General on his recent appointment and expressed their appreciation to him for the warm reception, promising that the issues raised have been noted and would be addressed accordingly.
