Renowned journalist and media professional, Adeniji Olamide, has officially picked up his nomination form to contest for the position of Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, ahead of the forthcoming union elections.
He obtained his form on Wednesday in Ibadan in the presence of some colleagues, supporters, and well-wishers who described his aspiration as timely and people-focused.
Adeniji, an astute Information and Public Relations officer, boasts of 19 years of active experience in journalism and public relations.
He was the erstwhile Secretary of his Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Information Chapel, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Adeniji currently works as a public relations manager for about four ministries, departments and agencies, in the Oyo State Civil Service, including the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB.
He is currently the National Secretary, Forum of SUBEB PROs, and the South-West Co-ordinator of the forum.
Supporters of Adeniji described him as a reform-driven and people-oriented journalist whose long-standing service and commitment to ethical journalism make him well-suited for the office of secretary.
The NUJ Oyo Council election is expected to bring together journalists from across print, broadcast, and online platforms in December 2025 to elect new executives who will steer the affairs of the Union for the next term.
