There was a mild drama after a 30-year old Muftau Adeshola displayed his tactical boxing prowess, inflicted serious injury and knocked off Abdulgafar Adeola’s jaw during a fight in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Adeshola attempted to escape after he had injured Adeola but the residents held him and asked him to carry the victim whether dead or alive.
The incident happened at Customs bus stop in Abaraje area of Ikotun, Lagos.
He was later forced to take the victim to a hospital and thereafter he was handed over to the police where he was detained to watch if the victim will not die before they consider granting him administrative bail.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspect and the victim had been rivals in the area and had constant quarrels until the day they fought publicly. During the fight, the suspect rained blows, knocked down the victim and he was in the pool of his blood.
When Adeshola realised that he had given Adeola serious injuries and that he might die, he attempted to run but was forced to carry him to a hospital before being handed over to the Police at Ikotun Division.
He was later charged before the Magistrate court sitting in Ejigbo for assault.
He pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor did not object his bail, but informed the court that the victim was seriously injured.
Adeshola was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 18 April, 2018.
