The good intention of Catholic priest, Rev. Father (Dr) Paul Obayi popularly known as ‘Okunerere’ to bring meaningful development in Nguru community in Enugu State has turned to attack and blackmail on the man of God by few elements who have been trying by all means to keep the community in darkness.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the community mapped out a parcel of land and gave to Obayi to build a University that will bring benefit to the people and development in the area.
However, few elements have ganged up and were trying their alleged evil intention to frustrate the ongoing project for their selfish aims.
Following this ugly development, the members of Okunerere Adoration Ministry members, Abuja branch, have warned the alleged miscreants causing the trouble to desist or they will face the wrath of God.
In a press release sighted by P.M.EXPRESS, and signed by their chairman, Barrister Gorge.O.Eke, the members said their attention have been drawn to various newspaper publications in the Daily Post of July 10, 2017 and punch Newspaper of July 17,2017 and following from the truth revealed by the Adoration members, Lagos branch in the trumpet Newspaper 13th Aug. 2017, have decided to state in clear terms their position.
“We want to be categorical about our mission which is to protect the integrity and reputation of Obayi. They stated that the young clergy came for something good for the community but unfortunately some miscreants who don’t want any progress in the town went ahead intentionally to mismanaged information simply to tarnish the image and abort good intention of Obayi.
” Based on this wicked and intentional image denting act on our spiritual director, we wish to react and warned those concern to desist from such act.”
It was gathered some people called concerned Nguru citizens few days after fronting Nguru Patriotic Forum Enugu Branch have been causing trouble in the community despite the fact that the land in question was given by the community in agreement.
The release stated as follows:
We have been silently watching the trend of events and at a certain point, we discovered that certain people have definitely stepped beyond their bounds.
It stated that they were aware that in one of the sessions, they (group) came home for peace and declared a go-ahead with the work in the
village square but shortly after that, they went back on their words to ginger others into crippling the project.
It further stated that the same group still went ahead to write an open letter to Obayi with all sorts of allegations and derogatory words as well as name calling as if he had stole or killed somebody. In addition, they still went
ahead on T.V. and Radio commentaries just to batter and bastardize his name.
“All these raised our eye brow
to know that something was seriously behind these. It appears that without mincing words that these fellows were worried, jealous and angry about Obayi’s fame and as if they said, “now is our opportunity to drag his name in the mud.”
They stated, they wondered and asked to know, which offence did he commit that it should be taken to such heights.
” We thought it was a brotherly thing but now, the world has seen it clearly that they were out with all their might to destroy and tarnish the man of God’s image. Otherwise, they shouldn’t have gone to that level.”
“It is quite clear that this group is simply instigating Nguru people against Obayi and trying by all means to keep the community in perpetual darkness.”
It stated that the negative motive came to lime light when it was recently discovered that the so called concerned group went and mutilated the MOU and circulated it far and near simply to confuse and convince innocent ones and win them over to their evil camp.
” We want to sound a strong note of warning to these people who were on the forefront of this evil machinations of libel in the persons of Kris onyish, Ike Okuhu ogbu, Emma Agbo and others who were orally engaging in this sinister act to desist from it or else they be invited to the appropriate quarters for the account of utterances due to the level of scandalization and
damage already committed against Obayi.
