Ageshin FC, Dynamos Tango At Onigando Cup Final

Ageshin Football Club of Igando will battle Dynamous Football Club in the final of Onigando Cup scheduled to hold on Sunday at the palace playground, Igando, Alimosho, Lagos.

To reach the final stage, Ageshin FC defeated De Royal FC of Ipaja 4-2 penalty after one goal apiece at the regulation time in the first semi final match, while Dynamous FC thrashed EFCC FC 3-1 in the second semi final played last weekend.

The competition which started three weeks ago is part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lasisi Gbadamosi, who has spent forty years on the throne. The anniversary would hold on 6 September at Igando palace playground, Alimosho.

Speaking ahead of the final, Ageshin Coach, Idowu Lateef boasted that his team are fully ready for the crucial match against Dynamos FC. He stated that his team have played tough matches on their way to the final, adding that they are ready to deliver the trophy to their fans.

“ We cannot afford to lose the final because the club owner has motivated the boys in terms of financial incentive, training allowance and match bonuses. It would be a huge disappointment if we lose the final, so we are doing everything to win the game,” he said.

Match coordinator, Jamiu Aberejo explained that the tournament was kneely contested among the participating teams, saying that the the final would be more tougher considering the pedigree two teams that are playing in the final.

He commended the semi finalists for the football artistry displayed in their semi final games and urged football fans at Igando and environs to come out in large numbers to cheer the teams to victory.

“ We are expecting a full house in the final because the tournament is well known in Alimosho. It is going to be fireworks because the two finalists have fans to support their team. I am using this medium to urge the fans to shun violence during and after the game because of the personality attach to the tournament,” he said.

Chairman Organising Committee,Match coordinator, Prince Suleiman Gbadamosi Sulaiman thanked the members of the committee for their effort to ensure that the tourney recorded huge success from the group stage till the final stage.

Among the invited guests to grace the closing ceremony include Oba of Igandoland, His Royal Majesty, Lasisi Gbadamosi, Elder David Akere, Hon Jimoh Ajao and a host of others
