Aguata sons and daughters in the diaspora have unanimously accepted and endorsed Dr Chibueze Ofobuike, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Aguata Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, hinging their decision on his  spectacular  and people-oriented performance as the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area.

Dr Ofobuike, who has become a household name across Aguata for his transformational leadership at the grassroots, was in Lagos where he was hosted by successful Aguata businessmen, entrepreneurs and community leaders who described him as the best choice for quality representation at the National Assembly.

In what was described as an evening spent for the best of Aguata, Dr Ofobuike last night in Lagos engaged Aguata businessmen doing business at the Agric Market, Building Materials, Odun Ade, Lagos, where he shared his vision for the federal constituency.

With rapt attention, the business community listened to his blueprint, asked critical questions, provided viable suggestions and pledged massive financial and moral support for his campaign. They also expressed readiness to actively participate in the election proper and mobilize support back home.

According to Dr Ofobuike, “The agenda is beyond the electoral process. Together, we will win. Together, we will make greater impacts across our communities.”

What has endeared Dr Ofobuike to Aguata people at home and in the diaspora, according to stakeholders, is his outstanding track record as Mayor of Aguata Local Government. Many described his tenure as miraculous, practical and people-oriented, with projects that cut across all communities in Aguata.

As Mayor, Dr Ofobuike embarked on people-oriented projects that directly touched the lives of the people. From community road rehabilitation and grading that opened up rural communities, to the renovation of primary healthcare centres, provision of educational support materials for schools, youth empowerment and skills acquisition programmes, street lighting projects, and market support initiatives, his administration was felt in all 14 communities of Aguata.

Unlike the usual style of concentrating projects in one area, Dr Ofobuike ensured even and equitable distribution of projects, ensuring that no community was left behind. This inclusive approach to governance has earned him respect as a leader who sees the entire Aguata as one family.

A businessman at the Lagos meeting said, “We have seen what he did as Mayor. In less than two years, he did what others could not do in many years. The roads, the lights, the support for our youths, the way he carried traditional rulers and the youth along, it was miraculous. If he can do that as Mayor with limited resources, imagine what he will do as our House of Representatives member.”

In another round of engagements in Lagos, Dr Ofobuike visited some of Aguata’s finest and most illustrious sons, including Chief Coleman Nwafor, Ebube Isuofia and Managing Director of Vintano Hotel, Lagos; Mr Nonso Okpala, Group Managing Director of VFD Group; and Chief Mascot Ezeukoma, Ezeamurunobi Uga.

During the visits, he reaffirmed his commitment to ensure that Aguata feels quality representation at the House of Representatives, stressing that his campaign is built on collaborative efforts with ndi Aguata both at home and in the diaspora.

He assured them that his manifesto titled “Doing More for Aguata: My Solemn Pledge” is not just a campaign document but a solemn commitment to do more for Aguata through quality laws, attraction of federal projects, support for entrepreneurship, job creation and amplification of Aguata’s voice at the national level.

The entrepreneurs, in their separate remarks, affirmed that Dr Ofobuike stands out clearly as the most prepared, credible and competent candidate for the position.

“You are clearly our best choice in Aguata and we will not relent in making sure you become our Representative at the National Assembly,” they declared.

Observers note that Dr Ofobuike’s leadership style is different – he takes the message directly to the people, he listens, he engages, and he delivers. He is described as an absolute refined leader, a model to many young people in Aguata and beyond, and a leader whose humility and accessibility have set him apart.

With the 2027 general election approaching, the endorsement by Aguata business community in Lagos is seen as a major boost to his ambition, as diaspora support often translates into massive grassroots mobilization in Aguata.

Supporters say Aguata will speak with one voice on January 16, 2027, to elect a man who has already proven that governance can be about the people.

As the chant rent the air in Lagos, “Ofobuike is the man! Yes, Aguata, Our Morning is Here.”
