The people of Aguata Federal Constituency have continued to express overwhelming acceptance for Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, the choice candidate for the House of Representatives, as he intensifies his engagement with stakeholders across communities in Aguata, Anambra State.
Dr. Ofobuike, who served as the former Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, is widely praised by residents for his performance in office. Many in Aguata say his tenure as Mayor was marked by accessibility, community development, and a people-first style of leadership that has now become his trademark.
It is that record of service, supporters say, that has made his bid to represent Aguata at the Green Chamber – the House of Representatives – gain general acceptance across the constituency.
In furtherance of his uncommon style of engaging directly with stakeholders to share his plans for the people, Dr. Ofobuike spent the day at home with his people, holding rich conversations with illustrious Aguata indigenes in Achina and Umuchu.
In Achina, he was hosted to a rich conversation on community development by two of Aguata’s respected sons.
The first was Rear Admiral Ifeanyi Okpala, one of Aguata’s shining stars serving in the Nigerian Navy, and currently the Director of Transformation at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Abuja. Residents describe him as a source of pride to Aguata and a symbol of discipline and national service.
The second was Chief Modestus Umenzekwe, Onwa, Eze Enyimba Achina, a patriotic community developer and philanthropist known for his contributions to the growth of Achina and Aguata at large.
The discussions in Achina centred on community development, security, youth empowerment, and how effective representation at the National Assembly can attract more federal presence to Aguata.
From Achina, Dr. Ofobuike moved to Umuchu, where he shared quality time with outstanding entrepreneurs, exchanging ideas on how best to support young people doing business in Aguata communities.
In Umuchu, he met with Mr. Ikenna Okpala, Eze Ikenna, a successful businessman and a major distributor of Nigerian Breweries among other beverages. He also met with Chief Ferdinand Okparaeke, Osimiri, Eze Umuanumanu, the Managing Director of Eagle Foods Limited, an outstanding agriculturist and a recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit Award (NPOM).
The Umuchu engagement focused on how to support small businesses, create jobs for young people, and build an enabling environment for entrepreneurs in Aguata. Stakeholders who attended said Dr. Ofobuike listened attentively and shared practical ideas from his manifesto.
That manifesto, titled “Doing More for Aguata: My Solemn Pledge”, contains his vision for Aguata. Supporters say the document is not just a campaign promise, but a solemn commitment to do more for the people in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, infrastructure, and economic development.
It is indeed delightful to witness Dr. Ofobuike’s efforts sharing his vision for Aguata with ndi Aguata. Across the communities visited, residents were seen hailing him, praying for him, and pledging their support, describing him as a son of the soil who understands the needs of his people.
Many stakeholders said Aguata needs a representative who is at home with his people, who knows the communities by name, and who has already proven himself as Mayor. They said Dr. Ofobuike fits that description perfectly.
Through the overwhelming support being expressed by ndi Aguata, supporters believe Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike will succeed, both at the polls, and in the House of Representatives.
As the campaign continues, the message from Aguata is becoming clearer: the people want a tested, trusted, and accessible representative. For many, that person is Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike.
Aguata, Our Morning is Here.
