The Agulu Community in Anambra State has been throwing into mourning with the reported death of the husband of the late NAFDAC Czar, Dora Akunyili, respected surgeon, Dr. Chike J. Akunyili (Agbalanze).
P. M. EXPRESS reports that Dr. Akunyili was said to have lost his life to unknown gunmen close to Nkpor Junction around Umuoji, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The sad event took place on Tuesday 28th September, 2021, when the respected Medical Practitioner visited Anambra State to receive a Post-humongous Award for the Late Amazon Prof Dora Akunyili at Sharon Hall, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha.
At the event, hosted by University of Nigeria, Nsukka Alumni Association, Dr. Chike Akunyili, who attended with his son, Obum, spoke glowingly about the former NAFDAC boss, Prof Dora Akunyili and even made a donation of the sum of N500,000 to support the association.
As at the time of filing the report, the Anambra State Police Spokesperson was yet to comment on the dastardly incident.
