Few weeks to the All Progressives Congress (APC) local government election primaries, party leaders in Ifelodun LCDA of Lagos state have vehemently debunked the rumours making the rounds that Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has adopted the candidacy of a certain Femi Okeowo, as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming local government elections.
According to the partymen who expressed their disappointment over the rumours, the truth remains that all aspirants who have indicated their intentions by collecting the nomination forms would participate in the party primaries slated for May.
Elder James Akanbi, a party leader in Ifelodun expressed shock in the rumours, which he describes as ‘unfounded and stupid’. He reiterated the decision of the party to give equal opportunity to all aspirants by providing them with enabling and level playing ground in line with the democratic principles of the party.
” Gov. Sanwo-Olu has not adopted any candidate. He is a democrat who understands the ideologies of the party. The rumour about Femi Okeowo is fake, unfounded and undemocratic.
” Whoever is interested in contesting for any position should go and collect nomination form and come out for the primaries,” he added emphatically.
