AIG Mani Rejigs FCIID Annex For Better Performance

The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigative Department, FCID Annex Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, is poised to improve on its investigative prowess and achieve its set objectives going by the steps being taken by the Senior Police drafted to the department.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Murtala Usman Mani PSC, at the maiden press conference on Friday since his transfer to Lagos recently.

Speaking with journalists, AIG Murtala Usman Mani assured of restoring public confidence as he is already working to ensure that all the sections in the investigation unit function properly.

In his words, “The IGP has keen interest in the forensic laboratory. As I am talking to you, eight air-conditioners will be installed in that place to ensure that all the machines are functioning properly because it is a very sensitive place.”
Regarding his officers, he said, “In a bid to make officers work and put them on check, the IGP has trimmed the number of officers here and transferred them to the Command so that the little ones we have here can have check and balances and put them on track”.

Explaining further, AIG Mani said this measure was taken generally, which he claimed is resulting in the viable, vibrant and active section.
He added, “We are taking some internal disciplinary measures too, because all we want is to give the public the desired confidence that the Police are there for them and of course we are here for you”.
He also noted that the fingerprint section of the unit is also being revived. “I assure you in the next couple of months, all these you are asking about the fingerprint section will be in place” AIG Mani said.
