AIG Margaret Ochalla Orders Another Set Of Police Officers To Vomit N2m Extorted From Complainant

Just few days after the Assistant Inspector General, AIG Margaret Ochalla of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos, recovered N4m extorted from a complainant by Inspector Kalu, the AIG has ordered some officers to vomit another N2m reportedly taken from a victim. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was achieved following an investigation into allegations of N2 million extortion involving some officers, which yielded result.

 

The Police officers in question were not only asked to vomit the money, they are now undergoing interrogation and may likely be on their way out of the Nigeria Police over their alleged conduct.

 

AIG Margaret Ochalla ordered the probe following a public complaint by one Olawale, who alleged that officers kidnapped, tortured, and extorted N2 million from him last week.

 

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mayegun Aminat, of the FCID Annex in Alagbon, Ikoyi.

 

The image maker stated that upon receiving the petition, AIG Ochalla promptly directed the Commissioner of Police X-Squad to investigate the matter.

 

“The parties involved have been contacted, and we are thoroughly investigating the allegations of extortion and rights violations,” Mayegun said.

She assured that any officer found culpable would face disciplinary and legal action, while efforts would also be made to recover the allegedly extorted funds.

“The victim has been contacted and confirmed readiness to assist with the investigation. Both the PoS agent involved and the officers have been identified,” she added.

 

Mayegun said the Command would provide regular updates, stressing that the Police remained committed to professionalism, accountability, and fair justice delivery in handling the case.

 

In a video shared on X, Police officers were seen dragging Olawale and hitting him with their guns during the alleged incident.

Olawale said he was abducted from his apartment in the Egbeda area of Lagos on Tuesday and taken to Alagbon by the officers.

“They beat, tortured and dehumanised me throughout the journey to Alagbon, repeatedly claiming there were petitions against me but showing no evidence,” he alleged.

He further narrated that on arrival at the FCID Annex, he was uncuffed and led to the station’s backyard, where threats and intimidation continued.

According to him, the officers forced him to admit to Internet fraud and compelled him to sign a false statement claiming he had made millions.

 

“They demanded N2 million. I showed them I had only N200,000 in my account. I had to borrow the balance,” Olawale said.

He added that the Point of Sale (PoS) operator introduced by the officers charged him N37,000 for the transaction, which he also paid before being released.

 

Meanwhile, AIG Ochalla has ensured the full recovery of the funds, which have been returned to Olawale.

Ochalla reiterated the FCID Annex’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and fair justice delivery. She emphasised the department’s zero tolerance for corruption and unprofessional conduct.

“The public is encouraged to report any misconduct through the appropriate channels, as the Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to accountability and quality service delivery,” she added.
