Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Sola Aiyepeku, has commended the Lagos State Athletics Association for kick starting the first of four legs of “The Club Athletics Series 2023”.
The Club Athletics Series 2023 is aimed at promoting talents within and outside the State.
The maiden event which comprised of track and field, shot put and long jump, took place at Yaba College of Technology Sports Center, Yaba.
“Our focus is Lagos State, we want our Athletes to be the best in the Country when we compete regularly” he said.
Aiyepeku said the idea is to think big and start moderately which is what the event has shown, stating further that, the more the awareness the more people will come for the Programme.
He emphasized that the events would attract more clubs that would register by next quarter.
At the end of the event, winners were awarded prizes.
