The leader of a dreaded and wanted cult group in Ojo Alaba area, Mr. Raymond Kuforoji, known as Aro Bagger, has finally been arrested by the Police in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the kingpin was arrested after he publicly displayed arms and shot sporadically in the public without any regard for security presence in the area.
The suspect and his gang were said to have been terrorizing people in the area especially traders; extorting money from them through threats and violence.
However, he was unlucky after several escapes as the police operatives who had been monitoring his activities targeted, moved in and arrested him with arms.
The arrest of Kuforoji elicited joy and happiness in Ojo Alaba market and its environs as there had been constant threats from him and his group in the area.
The suspect was moved and detained at the State Police Command in Ikeja where he was subjected to serious interrogations over his gang’s activities.
It was gathered that Kuforoji admitted that he belonged to a cult but said that he had never gotten involved in any armed robbery or killed any victim where he held sway as the leader.
He was charged before the Ikeja Magistrates court and remanded in prison custody for being in possession of arms and leading a secret cult.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuerhi, informed the court that Kuforoji and others at large were found in possession of fire arms and he was the leader of the cult group.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 15th November, 2018.
