Alex Okosi, Managing Director of Google Africa, received the Iconic Pioneer Award at the 2023 Silverbird Man of The Year Awards.
The award recognises his exceptional contributions and leadership in shaping the business and entertainment landscape in Africa.
Okosi was commended for his achievements in helping to transform the entertainment and media industry on the continent through landmark businesses and programs to support talents, businesses and economies, at the exclusive event held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
“Great people do simple things that turn out great. To be great you must know how to dream. Alex dreams and he makes his dreams come true and the continent has over the decades benefited from it, hence the Iconic Pioneer Award. We’re excited to see everything else that Alex will achieve,” Ben Murray-Bruce OON, Founder of Silverbird Group said.
While receiving the award, the Nigerian-born Okosi affirmed the recognition expressing his gratitude to the Silverbird team.
He also acknowledged other award recipients and all the superb work they do to build a brighter future for youths in Nigeria and across Africa.
The ceremony also honoured other notable individuals, including Prince Dapo Abiodun (Silverbird Man of the Year), Ken Calebs-Olumese (Lifetime Achievement Award), Funke Akindele and Linda Ikeji (Silverbird Special Achievement Awards), and Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma (Silverbird Manufacturer of the Year Award).
