The agitation against imposition of candidates by the youths in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State, has taken another dimension following the public endorsement of Prince Idris Balogun,  popularly known as Oluomo Kafata, to contest for the position of House of Representative in the 2023 general elections.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the agitation has gone beyond the Alimosho youths as the stakeholders in Alimosho, irrespective of party affiliation, have joined the movement for change due to the sorry state of the entire Alimosho regarded as the largest  Local Government area in Nigeria.

This came up following the recent protest, where they discovered that they have  strong voices against any imposition of candidates against the popular choices.

The youths from Igando, Ikotun, Egbe-Idimu, Ipaja and Alimosho area of Alimosho Federal Constituency have demystified the party leadership led by Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo and passed vote of no confidence on them. The Youths went ahead and formed a new group and appointed Engr. Abiodun Akeem Ariori, popularly known as Oganla of Isheri land, as the chief mobilizer for the change mantra.

The youths had alleged that the deplorable state of roads and other infrastructure neglected were as a result of imposition of candidates by the party leadership and the representatives only represent themselves and their families.

The youths emphatically told the party leadership that ‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH; OTOGE ALIMOSHO’ and had since commenced the programmes of action to reposition the party in Alimosho.

Engr. Abiodun, who accepted to be the chief mobilizer, said he did so because he believes that it will be for the interest of Alimosho people irrespective of tribe and there was need to make Alimosho work through popular choice in representation and hold them accountable.

He said that it was on record that he has not collected anything from the Government or politicians rather he was spending his own money to better the lives of people in Alimosho.

Abiodun explained that since his name came up for supporting the change agenda, he has been receiving several calls from politicians and he does not rule out the possibility of some of them attacking him and his property but added that he was convinced that Alimosho needs to be moved forward.

In the same vein, Prince Idris Balogun said that he accepted the offer given to him to represent Alimosho Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives and promised that he will never abandon the people because he had always identified with them.

He regretted the state of things in Alimosho and blamed it on the Party leadership in Alimosho, which usually imposed candidates on the people and are not accountable to the people.
