All Is Set For 7-Day Ibughubu-Umuchu Youths Cultural Festival

Nigeria and foreign based prominent sons and daughters of Ibughubu Community, Umuchu town, Aguata Local Government of Anambra State, have started returning home for the first of its kind cultural festival and carnival.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the seven days carnival is set to start from 31th December 2020 and last till 6th January, 2021, at Central School, opposite St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ibughubu, Umuchu, where series of activities have been lined up.

The festival, which is attracting Umuchu sons and daughters including friends both within and outside the town, is billed to be held under the Chairmanship of Ogbuehi Innocent Anununko.

Other dignitaries expected to grace the festival include the Chief Host and Traditional Ruler of Umuchu town, HRM, Igwe Gody Ezechukwu, Chief Godwin Ezeemo, Achi na agbara Oha, Chief Ibrahim Oti, Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo, Onwa, Chief Raph Ekekwe, Nwata kwochaa, Sir Benchucks Amarube, Nzeakonobi, Mazi Uchenna Aziekwe, Chief Anacletus Izuakor, Ebekuodike, Christian Okwuogu, HRM Eze Martin Emechebe, Ezendigbo in South Africa, Dr Emmanuel Maduakor, Hon. Paul Igwilo and many others attending the event as Special Guests.

The President of the Youths, Evangelist Vitus Ikeh, during an interaction with the press expressed their readiness for the event which he described as first of its kind.
He explained that the event will be an annual cultural festival and carnival, where the youths will display their talents, have a feel of the culture and tradition with their societal biases.

Ikeh also disclosed that the maiden edition of the Ibughubu youth cultural magazine and beauty pageant will be showcased thereby giving the younger generation the center stage to showcase how far they have come and to promote the relevance and dexterity of the young men and women.

He noted: “Humanity has always been a story of succession; what we do now for this young generation will certainly influence the future, and this future is what life is all about, enabling a perfect ecosystem for our offspring to germinate and become the best of themselves”.

Ikeh said that Ibughubu youth cultural magazine and beauty pageant aims to achieve a lot by giving young men and women a say in their own style; in essence, giving them freedom, which will be an annual event and will be launched on that day.

 He added that the carnival will be followed by the display of recognition of sons and daughters, who have excelled in various fields, followed by display by masquerades, which will continue till the 6th day of January, 2021.
