The founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B Joshua and Assistant Commissioner of Police Area M, Idimu,  ACP Austines Akika may likely be the two captains to lead the players in a novelty match between the police and journalists in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered from police sources that ACP Akika whose command will be hosting the match which will take place on Saturday 17th March, 2018, at the Police Primary School at Goodluck Jonathan Estate in Idimu is the chief host and captain of the police team. Prophet Joshua was unanimously adopted by the journalists to be their captain once he is available for the match.

It was gathered that two cups were donated for the match, one for the match winners and the other for the runners with some amount of money attached. It was not very certain if the man of God will be available because of his tight schedule. However, the coordinators said that an invitation has been sent to him to that effect.

The police and journalists match was  organised as a way of building a cordial relationship and synergizing against crime and its attendant effect on the youths in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Lagos State Commissioner of the Police, CP Imohimi Edgal, traditional rulers, captains of industry and other stakeholders will be in attendance. It was also gathered that the youths across the state have been mobilised in line with the objectives of the match.

The coordinator of the journalists, Mr. Oludairo Daniel while expressing the readiness of the media houses, explained the motives behind the football match. Mr. Daniel said that the match will enhance the synergy the relationship between the police and the journalists towards the fight against various crimes in the state.

He said that the match will be used to remind the youths that all eyes are on them and they should discontinue from committing crimes.

In the same vein, the coordinator of the police players, Deputy Superintendent of Police ,DSP Emos Oria said that they have positioned the players for the match and the players were ready to trash the journalists.

ACP Akika had earlier acknowledged the importance of the match to the stakeholders. He said that the reason behind the match was to sensitize the public especially the youths through sports to disabuse their mind from crimes.
The football match was in line with the earlier promise the CP made when he first visited Area M Command, Alimosho LGA to organise football match among youths in order to sensitize them not to get involved in cultism and other forms of criminality in the state.
