DR. HARRIS CHUMA-ODILI (Ogene Igbo)
The Dean of Studies, Prof Ernest Igwe, in concert with the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Charles Esimone, has been alleged to have directed the Unizik Agric Students to use Ifite Ogwari, Umueje Forest for the Agric Practicals amidst heightened insecurity in the area.
Recently, Umueje Forest has been a volatile area, regrettably regarded as the Den of Fulani herdsmen, which portends a grave danger for all intents and purposes. The area has been in the news for the wrong reasons, marked as security “flashpoint”, the forest is no longer safe for students to use for their Agric Practicals
We call on the authorities concerned to look into the plight of students of Agriculture at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
Support OGENE IGBO MOVEMENT to stop Unizik authorities from exposing the students to danger all in the name of Agric Practicals. The Dean of Studies should be advised to rethink, Please.
