Amb. Emeni Ibe Condemns Killing Of SYF Member, Itekena Christian George, Demands Justice

The National President of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, SYF, Ambassador Comrade Emeni Ibe, JP, AP, has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of one of its members, Mr. Itekena Christian George.

 

According to reports, Mr. George was shot dead by a Civil Defence officer in his father’s compound.

Reacting to the incident, Amb. Ibe expressed shock and sadness over the death.

“On behalf of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, SYF, I strongly condemn the gruesome killing of one of our members,” he said.

“It is indeed very sad for the SYF to lose a promising young man this way.”

The SYF National President called on security authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspect.

“I hereby call on the energetic and experienced Rivers State Commissioner of Police, and the leadership of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, to ensure that the suspect is thoroughly investigated and prosecuted,” Amb. Ibe stated.

Amb. Ibe also extended condolences to the father of the deceased, who he noted is the Patron of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria.

“I equally extend my heartfelt condolences to the father of the victim. It is indeed a very difficult period for the family and the SYF is standing with the family,” he said.

He added that the foundation will follow the case closely to ensure justice is served.

“We must ensure that justice is done in this case.”
