The Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has extended the opportunity of Lagosians watching live football action of the 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup Finals to the residents in the ancient town of Badagry.
PM EXPRESS can report that the sports loving Governor has at the weekend gave a directive that a World Cup viewing centre be opened in Badagry. The centre, it was gathered will be opened at the Badagry Grammar School.
With Badagry centre coming on board, it will bring the number of the World Cup viewing centres across Lagos State to eight.
Six similar viewing centres were opened at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Campos Mini Stadium Lagos Island, Abesan playground, Alimosho, Naval Yard playground, Ajegunle, Bishop Aggrey Youth Centre Mushin and Epe Recreation Centre.
The viewing centres are being sponsored by Budweiser.
The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon Babatunde Bank-Anthony has confirmed this new development of having additional World Cup Viewing Centre in Badagry as ordered by the Governor.
The World Cup Viewing Centres are Governor Ambode’s magnanimity to give Lagosians the opportunity of having a feel of football action in the ongoing World Cup, while the viewing centres will also serve as fun and relaxation spots for the people.
