FUNSHO AROGUNDADE
Exactly one year after constituting his Executive Council, the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday dropped some members of his cabinet.
Those affected by the sack are Commissioner for Tourism, Mr Folorunsho Folarin- Coker; Commissioner For Finance, Dr Mustapha Akinkunmi and Commissioner ForTransportation, Dr Ekundayo Mobereola.
In a Press Statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello, the Governor directed the Special Adviser, Arts and Culture to take over as the Acting Commissioner for Ministry of Tourism and Culture; Special Adviser on Transportation will take over as Acting Commissioner for Transportation while the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance takes over as the Acting Commissioner for Finance pending the appointment of new Commissioners in the respective ministries.
Until his appointment as a member of Ambode exco team, Folarin-Coker was the managing director of Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority, and then Special Adviser to former Governor Babatunde Fashola on Central Business District (CBD).
On his part, Dr. Mobereola has been part of the state government since the administration of former governor Fashola. He is the pioneer Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
While Dr. Akinkunmi was a Financial Economist and Technology Strategist from the private sector before joining the Lagos State exco.
The Statement however stated that the Governor expresses his appreciation to the former Commissioners for their service to the State and wished them well in their future endeavours.
