Former Enyimba International of Aba striker, Nfom Udoh, who recently joined FC Tulsa in the United States of America, USA has drawn a comparison with the UCL and the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL saying the UCL is better organised than the NPFL.
Udoh, who was one-time highest goalscorer in the NPFL said the NPFL is far behind the UCL in a number of ways. Although the club play in the second tier in the American football league, he said it is still better than the NPFL. Udoh, who spoke from his base on Sports Zone, a radio programme monitored in Lagos said “I can tell that the UCL is well organised unlike the NPFL, where things don’t work, aside that the training methodology is quite different, sometimes the players are told to go to the gymnasium to shape up.
With barely three months into his three-year contract, the soft spoken goal poacher said he was already missing a number of things in the NPFL.
“I miss the hostilities at match venues, the travelling from one match venue to another in the team bus and also the Nigerian meals.”
He, however, made a case for footballers on the home front, saying that with the right training pattern they could do better than some players in the foreign scene.
“I don’t want to sound somehow but some players in the NPFL are far better than some foreign footballers. The only problem is about motivation, players are not adequately paid and a lot of others negative things in the Nigerian league,” he said,
