KINGSLEY EBERE

Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, Anambra State Branch, has urged Anambra State electorates to come out enmass on Saturday 8th November, 2025, to vote massively for the candidate of their choice, protect and defend their votes.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was stated by Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, Chairman Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, Anambra State Branch.

He made the remarks while briefing the pressmen in Awka on the Anambra 2025 governorship election.

“To the glory of God, there is improved security when compared to the 2021 governorship election, when candidates hardly campaigned for fear of the unknown due to insecurity.”

“Unfortunately, political awareness, enlightenment, sensitization, confidence building, mobilization and education of the electorate are very poor as many of the citizens, especially those in rural areas, are ignorant of the forthcoming election.”

“Most pathetic is that some voters have decided that they will never vote again as their votes never counted. We are appealing to them to do the needful and exercise their franchise as the new INEC Chairman has promised to conduct credible and transparent election.”

“I commend some  faith based organizations for being neutral, unbiased impartial, and appealing to their members to come out enmass on Saturday 8th November and vote for candidates of their choice with conscience and conviction, contrary to previous elections in which they endorsed anointed candidates.”

“We appeal to security personnel to ensure strict compliance to the rule and halt selling and buying of votes during the election by arresting, detaining and prosecuting anyone found violating the constitution and electoral act. They should also most importantly bar party agents from staying closer to voting cubicle because when they give voters bribe, they will stay near the voting cubicle and watch to ensure that the voter actually voted for the candidate that bought his or her vote.”

“Pertinently, INEC, Security Personnel, Political Parties, Stakeholders, Election monitors and observers must ensure strict compliance with the constitution, electoral act and democratic culture.”

“Finally, our destiny is on our hands. Let us join hands together to play the game according to the rule in order to actualize peaceful, free, fair, credible, transparent and generally acceptable Anambra State governorship election that must meet expectations of the majority of the electorate, national and international standard .”

The Chairman was flanked by the Secretary, Comrade Chidi Mbah, Comrades Damian Ogudike, Pastor Elijah Umeh, Onyeka Obi, Pastor Chinyere Amah, Domwillians Nwarunta among others.
