On the 4th of April, 2023 the official website of the Anambra East Local Government and the E-Services Portal were test run. This event was attended by the Councillors of the Local Government and the heads of different departments in the council.
The E-services portal has been built to help digitize the services offered to citizens by the Local Government council. The developers and consultants did a demo of the workings of the portal, which provides services such as Marriage Registration, street name registration, Local Government Identification certificate, Sanitation levy payment amongst others.
All of these are in accordance with the “everything technology, technology everywhere” policy of Mr. Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, aimed at promoting a digital economy in the state.
The website, when officially unveiled, will enable citizens to access information and services conveniently from the comfort of their homes, reducing the need for physical visits to government offices, cutting the cost of governance, enhancing productivity and promoting transparency.
The test run was a success, and the officials present expressed their satisfaction with the project and offered suggestions for minor redesigns.
The official launch for public use will soon be announced. Anticipate!
