The Executive Director Independent Media Support Organization (IMSO), Ogbuefi Comrade Harris Chuma (Ogene Ndigbo Dum) in a statement in Awka said that the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election was not for shallow brains.

He said that the arrival of Governor Willie Obiano in Anambra political scene has redefined politics in the state. And has brought to bear on our democracy the much desired intellectual sagacity and technocratic abilities previously lacking in our style of governance, and the result was simply amazing. Ogene Ndigbo maintained that Gov Obiano’s experience in wealth and job creation had tremendous positive impact on the people and had attracted illustrious sons to think home, and many more are responding to the clarion call.

He however decried the use of e-rats who have been deployed on social media to run campaign of calumny and hatred just to edify, justify, glorify, adorn and serve the whims and caprices of their recalcitrant pay masters; filthy men and women whose lust for political power have thrown into character assassination.

In his words, “When will these ill-equipped renegades stop littering the media space with falsehood? When will their irresponsible pay masters come to terms with the reality that ‘Ndi Anambra’ cannot trade their freedom with agents of darkness, murderers, ritualists, political rogues and rapists? Does it not occur to them that ‘Ndi Anambra’ are not easily deceived with such irritable caravans of religious sentiments?”

He advised the opposition to stop heating up the polity and understand that politics in Anambra is not a do or die affair.Ogbuefi Harris Chuma further advised them to learn to play by the set rules and also see leadership as divine unction from God.

He maintained that Ndi Anambra would not wish a return to the old order; days when egocentric politicians seeking for public offices would rent bunch of assailants to mow down anyone who is not in their camp. He said gone were days when money politics blindfolded jobless youths into taking up arms against their political opponents.
“Our democracy has evolved overtime, and men and women of unblemished character have taken over the political scene. Well lettered and thorough bred technocrats have become captains of the political space. These are the days of intellectual gymnastics not for half baked intellects.”

He charged the opposition, “if you must contest against Chief Willie Obiano go back and get your intellect further developed because there is no room for intellectual misfits in Agu Awka the seat of government of Anambra state.”
