There are many registered political parties contesting LGA elections, with over 1million registered voters expected at the polls.

Ogene Igbo said, “The eyes of more than 26 million people of Anambra State will be watching in solidarity and in hope of a transparent, fair and credible election”.

“I implore the candidates contesting in the LG elections at all levels to respect the choice of voters and accept the results of the elections as announced by ANSIEC [Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission], the agency empowered by law to do so.”

“Let me remind ndi Anambra not for the first time that this is the only state we have, and we must do everything to keep it safe, united and peaceful.”

“LG election is vital for our stability and democratic consolidation, I hereby urge all the stakeholders that the process be conducted and concluded safely, fairly and credibly.”

“I encourage all stakeholders to intervene proactively to calm any tensions and avoid any violence.”
