The Governor Willie Obiano led administration in Anambra State is partnering with Tiger Foods in establishing a backward integration that will ultimately enhance the Agric Export potentials in the State.
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr. Nkem Okeke, Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture, The Permanent Secretary, MD ANSIPPA, SSA Agric Export, PM ADP and SA Logistics Export, visited Tiger Foods Limited Onitsha in furtherance of the partnership.
On arrival they were received by the MD Tiger Foods Limited, Mr. Don Ebubeogu, who led them round the factory. After the inspection, a business meeting on how Anambra State will partner with Tiger Foods in establishing a backward integration that will enhance the Agric Export potentials in the State.
During the meeting, a power point demonstration was conducted by the Honourable Commissioner for Agric, to project the potentials and deliverables in four major Agric products, namely: Turmeric, Local Basil, Chilli peppers, Vegetables.
The Deputy Governor and the Honourable Commissioner had an understanding with the MD of Tiger Foods, to explore more opportunities in concentrating on local basil and turmeric farming through cluster community development while other crops like vegetables and chilli pepper cultivation will still continue.
