Police operatives from the Ogun State Command have arrested a man, Sholola Kazeem, for allegedly pouring hot oil on his wife’s face and stabbing her in the head in the fit anger during an argument in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ring Road community, Owode Egba Local Government Area of the state, where they reside.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the arrest and stated that it was the members of the community that reported the incident at about 12:20 pm on Saturday at Owode Egba Police Division.
“Upon receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba took swift action, visited the scene, arrested the suspect and detained him at the station undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct ”
Odutola stated: “On 18th January, 2025, at about 12:20 hours, the Divisional Police Officer received a report from members of the Ring Road community regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who reside at the same address”.
“It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable fit of anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head.”
The image maker, CSP Odutola stated that the victim was rushed to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical examination and she is being treated for the injury she sustained during the dastardly act.
She added that the crime scene was examined and an investigation is ongoing to uncover all the details surrounding the incident. The spokesperson also stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
