Anger is a terrible thing when one considers what happened recently in Lagos
over the death of a 33-year old man, Afeez Oluwole, who was stabbed to death
over N500.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that one Kazeem Mustapha had little misunderstanding with the deceased, Afeez Oluwole; he took a broken bottle and stabbed him on his chest. He was said to have bled profusely, was rushed to the hospital and he died in the process.
The incident happened at Ijegun area of Satellite Town, Lagos, where they reside.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 25th February, 2020, at about 1230hrs, one Rafiu Dauda ‘m’ of No. 36 Alebiosu Street Ijegun, Satellite Town reported at Elemoro Police Station that his apprentice, Afeez Oluwole, ‘m’ 33, was stabbed on the right chest with broken bottle by one Kazeem Mustapha ‘m’, along Madoti Estate Fin-Niger, Satellite Town. The complainant said that the stabbing was due to a minor misunderstanding between them over N500. Afeez Oluwole was then rushed to Holy Family Hospital where he later died.
DSP Bala Elkana stated that the corpse was
deposited at the mortuary for postmortem examination while the suspect has been
arrested and will be charged to Court after the conclusion of
investigations.
The Police said that Mustapha committed murder and will be charged for the
alleged offence which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found
guilty before the Court.
