The Anifowoshe Community Development Association, ACDA, in Ikeja Local Government area of Lagos State, has embarked on a project to check flooding in the area.
The community was among the communities that benefitted from the grant which Governor Akinwunmi Ambode gave recently to 275 Community Development Associations (CDAs) to enable them complete self help projects.
According to Alhaji Sulukaleen Osinberu, the CDC Chairman, he said that after extensive deliberations, the community arrived at the decision to put the money so received into judicious use by checking the perennial flooding experienced in the area after any downpour.

Alhaji Osinberu explained that the target of the project is to fix one of the major channels that takes water out of the community which will ease flooding in the area once it rains, which had been blocked for over 15 years. He assured that by the time the project is completed, that it will complement the ongoing drainage works on Olawaiye and Oyelola Streets in Anifowoshe community being undertaken by the Engr Mojeed Balogun led Ikeja Local Government.
The CDC chairman said that the community is grateful to Gov Akinwunmi Ambode and Engr Mojeed Balogun for looking towards the betterment of the living standard of the people in Anifowoshe community.
