CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
Barely four days after a housewife, Mrs. Makoduchukwu Ngu, stabbed her husband, late Johnbosco, to death another housewife has murdered her husband in similar manner.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that one Mrs. Bilkisu Isah allegedly killed her husband, Isah Egba, during a quarrel at Anguwar Sabon Tasha in Abaji area of the FCT.
The unfortunate incident happened last Thursday around 9:12pm during a misunderstanding between the deceased and his wife, who is a mother of five children.
It was gathered that the deceased reportedly confronted his wife for leaving the house without his consent when she returned home around 8pm as the deceased sent her out of the house. Out of annoyance he was said to have pounced on her and pushed her out. Visibly angered by the husband’s action, she reportedly grabbed a piece of wood and hit him on the head.
According to one of their neighbours, when she hit the man with the wood, he collapsed and was bleeding. Some neighbours helped to rush him to Abaji Comprehensive Health Centre, where he was referred to University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada but died around midnight on Friday.
The late Isah, who was a staff of the Finance Department of Abaji Area Council, was buried according to Islamic rites with the Chief Imam of JIBWIS Central Mosque, Malam Mohammad Tauheed, leading the funeral prayers at the Muslim cemetery in the area.
The spokesman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, who confirmed the incident, said the Police were still investigating the incident. He said the Police were also making efforts to ensure that the woman, who is still at large after committing the crime, was arrested.
