ANSEC Names Anambra Government House Mini City “Light House Awka” & Awards Contracts

The Anambra State Executive Council has awarded contracts among other things and named the new Government House as “Light House Awka”.
According to Law Mefor, PhD, Commissioner for Information, the 10th ANSEC meeting and the 3rd to be held in the new government house on 2nd June, 2025, took the following key decisions:
1. “Light House Awka” is the name of the new Anambra Government House Mini City. After deliberating over a suitable moniker, ANSEC christened and proclaimed the new Anambra Government House Mini City “Light House Awka,” in keeping with Anambra State’s slogan, “Light of the Nation.”
2. Anambra Rebirth: ANSEC explored how to completely restore Anambra society, reshape its moral and social structures, and establish the project as a lasting legacy of the Soludo administration.
3. The Extraordinary International Children’s Day Celebration on May Day: ANSEC relived the spectacular Special International Children’s Day (May 27) 2025 celebration at Solution Fun City and gave the children credit for their good conduct despite their large numbers.
4. Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission(ASERC) to be established: To perform its functions as contained in the recently assented Anambra State Electricity Law, ANSEC decided to immediately establish the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission and launched a recruitment drive for subject-matter experts to join the new commission.
5. Facilities Used As Holding Places For Child Beggars To Be Confiscated And Sealed In Compliance With Extant Law: The Council decided that, in accordance with the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025, premises used as holding places for Child Beggars will be henceforth sealed and confiscated going forward.

1. Construction of Factory Warehouse for Processing of Pharmaceutical Grade Kaolin at Kaolin Plant, Ukpor
  – Contractor: Strata Projects Ltd
  – Contract Sum: ₦190,482,467.94
  – Duration: 8 weeks from mobilization
2. Extension of Nnewi Industrial line & Supply and Installation of a 750 KVA Transformer at Anambra State Kaolin Plant, Ukpor
  – Contractor: Zamic Ventures Ltd
  – Contract Sum: ₦110,114,510.60
  – Duration: 6 weeks from mobilization
3. Procurement and Supply of Official Uniforms and Operational Gears to Ocha Brigade, Anambra State
  – Supplier: Analiro Enterprises Ltd
  – Contract Sum: ₦155,653,550.00
