The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Belgium Chapter, Ambassador Olugbenga Folowosele, has commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his massive investment in rural infrastructure and good governance.

Amb. Folowosele, reacting to the ongoing rehabilitation of 18 rural roads across Ekiti State under the ₦17.2 billion Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), described the initiative as a game-changer for farmers, traders, transporters, and students across the state.

According to him, Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated uncommon vision and leadership by prioritizing rural development and agricultural sustainability. “What the people of Ekiti are witnessing is not just road construction, but the opening of lifelines for prosperity, food security, and youth engagement in farming. This is true leadership that touches lives directly,” Folowosele stated.

The APC Belgium Chairman highlighted the testimonies of farmers, traders, and residents in communities such as Oye, Ikole, Ido, Ise, Ikogosi, Ijero, Agbado, and Ara-Ekameta, where the rehabilitated roads have reduced travel time, cut transport costs, boosted commerce, and revived once-forgotten communities.

He particularly noted that the projects, which include key roads like Ikole–Ikoyi–Igbemo (20km), Ido–Ipere–Iludun (15.1km), Agbado–Ejisun–Ipole–Ise (15.7km), and Ikogosi–Aba Osun–Aba Oriokuta (7.2km), will not only enhance agricultural productivity but also strengthen tourism and educational access.

Amb. Folowosele added that the governor’s commitment to grassroots development is a clear demonstration of empathy and responsiveness to the yearnings of ordinary citizens. “Governor Oyebanji has given rural dwellers a sense of belonging by reconnecting their communities to the mainstream economy. This is the essence of good governance,” he said.

While applauding the Renewed Media Agenda (RMA) Crew for their on-the-spot assessment of the projects, Folowosele urged the people of Ekiti State to continue supporting Governor Oyebanji to consolidate the gains already achieved. He stressed that continuity remains vital to sustain progress beyond 2026.

“Governor Oyebanji has opened the villages of Ekiti to the world. It is now left for the people to rally behind him so that the light he has kindled can shine brighter,” the APC Belgium Chairman concluded.
