In a significant address by 7am today; World Mental Health Day, the 2023 Candidate of All Progressive Congress for Senate Anambra Central, Chief Dr Kodilichukwu Okelekwe (Ubom Nibo), emphasized the critical importance of steering clear of hard drugs for the mental well-being of Nigerian youths.

From his office at Abuja; GLOVIC Group Headquarters, Chief Okelekwe highlighted the alarming rise in mental health challenges among the youth, attributing a significant portion to substance abuse. He passionately urged the younger generation to prioritize their mental health by shunning the use of hard drugs.

Chief Okelekwe emphasized the detrimental impact of substance abuse on cognitive functions, emotional stability, and overall mental resilience. He underscored the need for a collective effort to create awareness and provide support systems for those grappling with mental health issues.

This advocacy aligns with global initiatives on World Mental Health Day, focusing on raising awareness and promoting mental well-being. Chief Okelekwe’s call to action serves as a poignant reminder that a healthy society begins with individual choices, especially regarding substance use.
