APC Youths Warn Faleke Over Alleged Plan To Impose Candidate

Following the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC release of the guidelines for the local government election coming up in the state in July, some youths within the Ojodu chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has protested the rumour planned imposition of a particular candidate on them by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Constituency 1.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that these APC youths have promised to resist vehemently the plans of Hon. Faleke, who they alleged is hell-bent on imposing his associate, Julius Oloro on the executives as the party chairmanship candidate for the July LG election.

According to one of the youths, Faleke has promised to go to any length to ensure his favourite, Oloro bags the party ticket and win the seat.

“We have it on good authority that Hon. Faleke has been trying to induce the party executives to go against the wish of the generality of the people of Ojodu to install his associate but we would not allow that to happy. We would resist that vehemently,” one of the youth who pleaded anonymity said.

The youths then called on the party leaders at the National, State and local government level to prevail on Faleke to allow democracy and the wishes of the people to reign in Ojodu as any step to impose Oloro on them would lead to further crisis in the party in the area.

The youths, said to be over 20,000, has threatened that should Faleke has his way with Oloro, they will not hesitate to throw their support behind the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party during the LG elections.

It was gathered that Faleke, who was the running mate to the deceased APC governorship candidate in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, has been at the loggerheads with some youths in the area since his failed adventure in Kogi State.

The youth complained that despite that Faleke moving his party membership to his home state, Kogi, he still wants to have control over them in Lagos, a move they believe is unjust.

“That is not possible. You can’t eat your cake and have it. On this issue, I am going to throw my weight behind the party excos, electorates and the youths in Ojodu and I am very sure Asiwaju will also want to protect the grassroots, ” one of the elders of the party in the area also said.

To ensure peace reign, the elder also advice Faleke to ensure the reinstatement of Akeem, the youth leader in his old Ward, whom he allegedly engineered his suspension right inside his house with 8 out of 23 votes.
