The State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Anambra State, Sir Norbert Obi, says the party will win the State’s November 6 Governorship election convincingly.

Obi stated that the solid achievements of the Willie Obiano administration in many sectors, the general acceptance APGA enjoys among ndi Anambra and the good candidate expected from the party’s primaries would combine to give APGA victory.

Sir Obi stated these during a special edition of ‘Meet The Media’ at the Party State Secretariat in Awka. While revealing that five people have expressed interest to run for the Governorship seat under the party, he assured that the party was committed to transparent primaries. Sir Obi also noted that more aspirants would likely emerge as the party continues following the electoral umpire’s time table.

According to the Party Chairman, during the recently concluded Local Government tour, among other efforts, the party hierarchy made efforts to reconcile and douse the tension of aggrieved members, saying that the move alone is already yielding fruits as relationships have improved.

While stressing that elections are won and lost at the Ward level, he assured that the primaries will be free and fair, and that more plans by the party will soon start unfolding.

The APGA State Secretary, Barr. Anthony Ifeanya, Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Governor Obiano, among others were present at the media engagement.

One minute silence was observed for the late Publicity Secretary of APGA, Mr. Chinedu Nkwonta, who died on 4th January, 2021.
