The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, joined other faithful at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, to celebrate the Silver Jubilee Mass ushering in the year 2025 and also marking the liturgical Holy Family celebration.

The solemn Mass, led by His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, emphasized the spiritual significance of the Jubilee year. In his homily, Archbishop Okeke declared 2025 as a year of grace, forgiveness, and fulfillment, calling on Christians to embrace selflessness and unity within their families and communities.

The Archbishop underscored the importance of the Holy Family as a model for all households, urging husbands to emulate St. Joseph in caring for their wives and children. Similarly, mothers were encouraged to prioritize their families and embody the virtues of Mary, the Mother of Christ.

Barrister Ezeokenwa , accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Amara Sly Ezeokenwa, expressed profound admiration for Archbishop Valerian Okeke’s visionary leadership and his commitment to fostering unity and love among the faithful.

He remarked, “This Jubilee Mass is a testament to the power of faith to unite people across political, social, and religious divides. It serves as a reminder that we are all brothers and sisters, bound by a shared humanity and a collective responsibility to build a better society rooted in love, forgiveness, and selflessness”.

The APGA National Chairman further emphasized the significance of such gatherings in promoting peace and harmony, adding that the values espoused during the celebration align with APGA’s commitment to service, development, and the well-being of Nigerians. He commended Archbishop Okeke for organizing the occasion, which brought together individuals from different political parties and denominations in a spirit of brotherhood and unity.

A notable moment during the celebration was the ceremonial cutting of the Jubilee cake, marking the beginning of what promises to be a spiritually enriching year.

It has become a yearly ritual for Archbishop Valerian Okeke to organize such a gathering every 29th December, fostering unity and spiritual renewal among the faithful.
