Nigerian Archers
The second edition of the Nigeria Archery Federation National Open Championship has been scheduled to flag off at the Package B of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja from June 21st to 26th.
According to the federation president, Mallam Mohammed Abdullahi, all is now set for the commencement of the National Archery Championship which marks the 2nd National Archery Championship for the 2021 year Calendar of the Nigeria Archery Federation.
Abdullahi noted that, the all important Championship is designed to select a National Team of Nigeria for Archery Sports.
He added that, the best athletes/archers will be selected at the event. The selected athletes will be the country’s representatives in major continental and international Archery events henceforth.
Abdullahi stressed: “It will be recalled that the current board of the Federation pledged to spread the game of Archery across the length and breadth of the country and true to its promises, the Federation has so far groomed and nurtured athletes and also developed the Archery to an appreciable level.”
The 2nd National Archery Championship is expected to attract about 125 athletes and officials from across Nigeria, as the event begins on Monday June 21st and end on Friday 26 June, 2021.
Teams from States, Clubs and affiliated Institutions such as the Police, Army, Navy, Airforce, Immigration, Correctional Service, Road Safety are expected to slug it out in their crave to be part of the Team Nigeria in Archery Sport.
