They were paraded by the police at the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mr. Folahanmi was arrested on 17th May, 2018, by a team of policemen attached at Ilembe Hausa Division while on pin down duty at Era Road in the same area.

The police boss said that suspect who resided at 44 Afolabi Street, Shibiri in Ajangbadi, was carrying a big bag and he was stopped and searched. The following items where found inside the bag: 3 police t-shirts, 2 police bullet proof vests, baton, belts and 7 short and long toys guns. He was subsequently arrested with the items and detained at the police station.

Cp Edgal also paraded two other suspects, Bamidele and Anifowoshe after they were arrested on 21st May, 2018, at Itolowo bridge with toy guns. He said that the suspects were caught redhanded after they attempted to snatch a Toyota Corolla car with registration number, KJA 911EG belonging to one Otun Olugbenga.

He explained that the suspects entered the vehicle from Surulere en route Agric area. When they got to the bridge, they brought out the guns and pointed at the driver. The driver raised an alarm, they struggled with the driver and the vehicle somersaulted. The suspects came out of the vehicle, tried to run away but the police who were present and saw what happened pursued and arrested them.

The police boss noted that suspected criminals were now using toy guns, with the mindset that if they were arrested that they will face mild charges. He said that any suspect arrested with a toy gun will be considered an armed robber and will be charged accordingly as those suspects charged for armed robbery after the conclusion of investigations.
