The Alliance of Social Democrats candidate for Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwudi Boniface Okparaku, has flagged off his campaign for the Constituency 2 in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos. Hundreds of members of the ASD gathered at the party office at Arida bus stop in Abaranje, Ikotun where the flag off took place and spread to all the areas in the constituency.
The supporters were seen in various party attires dancing and singing praises of Chief Okparaku who they described as having come to rescue the residents from years of neglect and abandonment by their representatives.
Addressing the party supporters, Okparaku said he offered himself to rescue the people because the area had been neglected over the years due to poor representation. He exolained that he was contesting to save the youths and empower them through notable policies he will influence so that they will be properly engaged and be useful to the society.
He noted that all the roads in the constituency had been neglected over the years and women and children including elderly men and women were left to their fate.
“I understand the need to reform our erring youths and not condernm them to prison. I understand the need to make laws that will protect our women and children and share in their pains” he said.
Okparaku said there was need for real change now and that was why he offered to serve to bring new ideas that will protect and empower the people. He said it is the right of the people to have good roads and solicited for their votes by asking the people to vote for ASD.
He said that the party cut across ethnic groups and what the people needed was quality representation that will bring about the real change for the people to enjoy better life.
“Your vote will guarantee effective representation, your vote will guarantee dividends of democracy” Okparaku said.
He said that he was confident that the people will vote for him because of the mass turn out and promised that he will not disappoint the people.
The campaign train moved to the nooks and crannies of the constituency where fliers were distributed listing what he will do if he is elected.
