Muslim girls in some secondary schools in Lagos State were given the opportunity to display their religion attires while playing football.
This was what happened at the Elegbeta Sports Complex on Lagos Island on Wednesday when captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Asisat Oshoala, using the platform of her pet project, Asisat Oshoala Foundation, to organise the Asisat Oshoala Hijab Project.
With no fewer than 100 girls from three secondary schools on the Lagos Island, the Asisat Oshoala Hijab Project gave the girls the chance to play football while putting on their hijabs.
The participants were drilled on the basic rudiments of football by some season coaches and at the end of the day, it was an event full of fun and excitement.
