He exuded the infectious confidence that is the trademark of champions, even though he just turned nine years on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

Blue-belter Omofolawe Omotosho is not the every day nine year old child.

At his tender age, he has already set his goals and they are lofty. And he’s laser-focused on the goals.

Hear what he told PM Express during his birthday party at the Bodyweapon Taekwondo Club training ground in Agbado Frontliners in Lagos.

“I want to be a champion. I want to represent Nigeria in the Olympics and win gold”

Folawe, as he is fondly called by his friends and family has started pursuing the Olympic dream with vigour.

The aerobic session

In his few years in the club, he has progressed from white to blue belt. He has also won a couple of laurels for the club.

Little wonder, chief instructor of Bodyweapon Taekwondo Club, Emmanuel Banjo strongly believes that Folawe has what it takes to be an Olympic champion.

According to Banjo “Folawe is one of our dedicated students in the club. Without mincing words, he is an Olympic champion in the making like most of our students here”.

“He has the mentality of a  champion and he has demonstrated his stuff during the championships that he represented the club”.

“Folawe’s future is very bright, not just as a taekwondoist but in other aspects of human endeavour because taekwondo prepares the practioner for success in all aspectsof life”, Banjo added.

Beyond his Olympic dream, Folawe has also started living by the tenets of taekwondo.

When asked what taekwondo has taught him, he replied “Taekwondo has taught me respect, self control, discipline and self defence”

Also on Saturday, Bodyweapon Taekwondo Club, played hosts to Body Lyrics Global Elite Club. The highlight of the visit was  aerobics session conducted for parents and students of the two clubs.

Chief instructor of Body Lyrics Master Dare Agboola conducted the session.
