The ongoing West Africa Automotive Show at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos opens another chance for some foreign companies to express their desire to tap into the business opportunities that are readily available in the country.

The automotive show is a platform for the stakeholders in the automotive sector to come together, network, forge new relationships, discuss best practices and do business.

The show, which is being organised by B2B Events Ltd., enters its second edition this year, with the participation of companies from the United Kingdom, India, Germany, Indonesia, United States, Poland, South Africa, UAE, and the host Nigeria and others.

P.M. EXPRESS reports that all the Chief Executives Officers and representatives of the participating companies in the exhibition showed enthusiasm for coming to Nigeria. While some of them are in the country for the first time, some have been on the ground for the last few years.

Some of the exhibitors who spoke with P.M. EXPRESS said that people outside Nigeria are so fascinated with both the human and natural resources that God has bestowed on the largest economy in the black nations. These exhibitors unanimously agreed that doing business and having a business presence in Nigeria would further expand the portfolio of their businesses.

Tracy Hunter, Sale Director of GT Exhaust, manufacturers of original equipment and replacement silencers based in the United Kingdom, which has been in the business for the past 50 years said that the Nigerian economy attracted the company for coming to the exhibition for the first time this year, adding that GT Exhaust will be willing to do business with Nigerians who can be distributors and sales representatives for the company.  She disclosed that the high numbers of people using vehicles in Nigeria make the country a huge market for GT Exhaust.

Ranjeet Kumar Mahato, Regional Manager – International of Hunter Engineering Company, a 75-year-old USA-based global leader in automotive service equipment, said that the Nigerian economy is attractive to outsiders because of the population and the potential therein. He said that Hunter Engineering Company, which is currently present in over 105 nations offers state-of-the-art wheel alignment systems, wheel balancers, changers, inspection lane equipment, and lift racks with excellent after-sales support. He added that the company would love to see many Nigerians becoming its distributors which will aid the influx of the products in the country.

Mateusz Koprianiuk, the Business Developer of Poland-based Zamel, which specialises in autogas, said his company provides complete solutions for autogas installers and distributors. According to him, Zamel has the technical know-how to deliver a complete kit for autogas and also make spare parts available.

Koprianiuk noted that Nigeria has a rich deposit of natural gas which makes the market very lucrative for foreign investors. He said that his company is opened for Nigerians who are ready to take up distributorship of its services and products.

To Mr. Khatab, Managing Director of Linus Projects, the Indian company, which was established in 2014 is a turnkey management company with expertise in supplying machinery for different types of plants such as the Lube Oil Blending Plant, Grease Manaufacturing Plant and others. Linus also has expertise in soap plants, cooking gas cylinders, blow moulding plants, and paint machinery. He disclosed that the company is open to Nigerians who want to establish themselves in the country as they are more than ready to bring their services to Nigeria.

General manager of DPH South Africa, Ricardo Swart disclosed that his company specialises in high-quality rubber/gasketing and soft moulded components for the European aftermarket motor industry and also offers expert advice and technical service right from the design stage through to after-sales backup. According to Swart, DPH sees Nigeria as a giant market worthy of tapping, while he came to Nigeria, among other things, to explore mutual business relationships with Nigerians and its corporate world.
