Atiku’s Consistent Inconsistency Is A National Embarrassment – Olalekan Oni

A respected public affairs analyst and social commentator, Mr. Oni Olalekan, has strongly condemned the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for what he described as a habitual pattern of political inconsistency, opportunism, and desperation for power without purpose.

 

Reacting to Atiku’s latest resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Oni Olalekan described the move as not only predictable but shameful and emblematic of a man who has reduced politics to a game of personal ambition, devoid of ideology, values, or principles.

 

“This is not the first time, neither is it the second time. It is the third time since 1999 that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is jumping ship like a desperate power seeker without compass or conviction. His inconsistency has become his only consistency,” Oni Olalekan said.

“A man who cannot stay loyal to a political platform, who abandons the same party he once claimed to have built, and who treats political ideology like a change of clothes cannot, and must not, be trusted with the destiny of over 200 million Nigerians,” he added.

According to Oni, Atiku’s latest defection is further proof that the former Vice President lacks the stamina, discipline, and patriotic depth to offer credible leadership.

“What moral authority does Atiku have to speak on good governance when he cannot even govern his own political choices? What legacy does he boast of beyond serial defections, power mongering, and an insatiable thirst for the presidency at all cost?”

He further berated those who still consider Atiku a symbol of leadership in Nigeria, describing such disposition as delusional and dangerous.

“It is unfortunate that some still see Atiku Abubakar as a viable option for leadership. I find it laughable and tragic at the same time. His lack of political fidelity, his chronic impatience, and his legendary desperation for power makes him unfit to lead even a street committee, not to talk of the most populous black nation on earth,” he said.

Oni Olalekan concluded by advising Nigerians, especially the youth, to be wary of politicians who are serial defectors, stating that any man who cannot stand firm for something will fall for anything.

“Nigeria cannot be entrusted in the hands of those who see politics as a transactional game. Our nation deserves committed, stable, and vision-driven leaders qnd not fair-weather politicians who lack the character to lead and the conscience to serve,” he warned.
