The All Progressive Congress Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola, has described as a despicable act the attack on former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, in Nuremberg, Germany, by some persons identified as members of the banned Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, regretted that such attack on a foreign soil on a serving public official demeans and derogates Nigeria and Nigerians on the international scene, stressing that those behind the attacks have greatly contributed to negative perception of Nigerians in Diaspora.
“I totally condemn the physical attack on the former Deputy Senate President for its barbarity. It is an attack on the institution of Parliament, on the Igbo race and indeed Nigeria. It is good all reasonable socio cultural groups and personalities from South East are distancing themselves from this odious and shameful act” Senator Adeola stated.
