Former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Maduabuchi Obiano, has received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Barrister Tex Okechukwu (Kpakpando), former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Chief Obiano described the late Barr. Okechukwu as a loyal, committed and dedicated party stalwart who discharged his responsibilities with uncommon passion and diligence. He recalled how Okechukwu’s voice resonated across the media landscape as he stoutly defended APGA against the relentless attacks of political opponents and those who sought to undermine and hijack the party.
According to the former governor, although Barr. Okechukwu was soft-spoken, he possessed the heart of a lion. His courage, conviction and unwavering commitment to every just cause he believed in made him an invaluable asset to APGA and a formidable advocate for the party.
Chief Obiano said Barr. Okechukwu’s death is a great loss and that he will be sorely missed by the party and all who knew him.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the bereaved family, friends and associates the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“May the soul of Barrister Tex Okechukwu, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen,” Chief Obiano concluded.
