Bash Ali Fans Club of Nigeria (BAFCON) is felicitating with President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Governor-elect of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for their victories at the just concluded general election.
Buhari and Osinbajo were re-elected in the Presidential election conducted on 23 February, while Sanwo-Olu will be succeeding Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as the Governor of Lagos after his victory at the last weekend’s gubernatorial election in Lagos State.
BAFCON, a group which has more than 100,000 members spread across the geo political zones of the country is an umbrella body of fans of Nigeria’s boxing legend, Bashiru Lawrence All (OON) a.k.a Bash Ali who is aiming for the Guinness Book of World Record as the oldest man to win a world boxing title at the forthcoming World Boxing Championship which holds in Nigeria in the next few months.
National President of BAFCON, Comrade, Dickson Ayorinde Oshin said in an interview in Lagos that the Nigerian people are lucky with the re-election of Buhari, adding that the President has done a lot to unite and move Nigeria forward for him to deserve a second term in office.
“We want to congratulate our dear President Buhari, Vice President Osinbajo for their victory in the presidential election, and also want congratulate the Governor-elect Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Hamzat. We also congratulate the National Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. A leader who can tolerate different people with different character. I salute you, and also all the members of the APC for winning the war to take Nigeria to the Next Level.
“We want to call on President Buhari not to relent on his effort to fight corruption in Nigeria. The president should also focus his attention to sports which is seeing as a big business all over the world. There is clean money in sports especially boxing. We believe that Nigeria can get clean money from the forthcoming Guinness Book of World Record Championship involving our own Bash Ali, the boxing legend of our time who is gunning to become the oldest boxer in the world. The fight will bring immeasurable honour and economic benefits to the country,” Oshin said.
